Our Biswas relieves poverty by providing the spark of interest free small loans to women for their livelihood, children’s education, basic healthcare, and emergency needs. Working in mutual trust, women have one full year to pay back the loan. Through nano finance thousands of the poorest of the poor women, have an option to high interest micro-finance that has proven to bring success.
Ways that nano finance works: Women experience empowerment by working as individual entrepreneurs or in social enterprise groups, combining their resources for similar businesses and sharing in the profits equally. For example, a woman who took out a loan to buy baby chickens, sold the eggs and was able to invest in more chickens. Working in groups and combining their resources, women created enterprises to make bricks, buy a rice thrashing machine, as well as to lease land for farming.
Our Biswas helps women to make independent decisions and establish a voice for themselves in their communities.
